Stop using the toothbrush cover because it is a mistake. Many do it and below we explain why you shouldn’t do it anymore. Here are all the details.

Dental hygiene and cleaning are two key aspects, and dentists have tips. First of all, they recommend brushing and cleaning your teeth at least 3 times a day after about half an hour after meals. You have to brush your teeth for about 120 seconds with the right movements.
However, it is not only the cleaning of the teeth but also of the toothbrush that is important. This is the object that we put inside the mouth to clean our teeth and for this reason it is essential that it is also clean. You must therefore learn how to clean it properly.

Another thing not recommended is to use the toothbrush cover. Usually this comes with it when you buy a new toothbrush but experts advise not to use it daily. Do you know why? Below, in the next paragraph, we are going to see the reasons together.
Stop Using Toothbrush Cover: Here’s Why
According to a statistic, a large part of the population does not use the toothbrush correctly, including as many as 70%. In this way, oral hygiene is compromised and it is therefore better to provide for and changeone’s habits for the health of the mouth. Let’s start with the toothbrush cover.
As we have said, we usually find the plastic cap together with the toothbrush at the time of purchase in most cases. However, it is not recommended to use it. Covering your toothbrush after using it increases the proliferation of bacteria and the development of mold.

Wet bristle moisture is the perfect place for pests and bacteria. Precisely for this reason, it is also not recommended to put the toothbrush after use in closed places such as a drawer. These are therefore two things to be avoided completely. But how to do it then?
It is best to air dry your toothbrush after using it. However, do not put it near the toilet otherwise every time you flush the toilet you can risk flooding it with bacteria. It is best to keep it on the sink in a cup or glass vertically. Just be careful that the toothbrush does not touch the bristles of other toothbrushes.
How to clean your toothbrush properly
We have already mentioned that cleaning the toothbrush itself is also important. After brushing your teeth, the toothbrush should always be rinsed well to remove any food remains. Then once washed well you can store it. It is then advisable to change it approximately every 3 months based on wear.

For a toothbrush that is always clean, however, it is advisable to sanitize it once a week or even better twice, if possible even every day. You can do this with a few methods. These include:
- Baking soda and lemon: in a glass of hot water, put a few drops of lemon and a pinch of baking soda. Soak the toothbrush for about 20 minutes and then rinse in cold water by rubbing the bristles.
- Hydrogen peroxide: in this case it should be left to soak overnight. Then rinse before using it.
- Mouthwash: in this case it is better to use a chlorhexidine one. Leave inside for a few hours and then rinse.
Don’t forget to clean your toothbrush.
