From a young age I actively helped my parents manage their garden and then organized my own plot. For me, there’s nothing more fun than working the land, planting seeds, and seeing the first sprouts appear. Over the years, I have accumulated considerable experience and several secrets that I want to share with you today.
The main point in achieving a rich harvest is proper soil preparation. Nowadays, many gardeners resort to the use of chemical fertilizers and phytosanitary products, but I prefer to stick to natural and safe methods. Soil is a living organism that requires careful treatment and care.

Every autumn, after the harvest, I carry out a specialized soil treatment. First I sprinkle it with a mixture of mustard powder and tobacco powder. These natural components effectively repel various pests such as fleas, caterpillars, slugs, and other insects that often spoil young shoots.
Mustard and tobacco powder not only protect plants from pests, but also enrich them with microelements and vitamins, promoting their active growth and development.
Next, I prepare a special solution to water the soil. I add three cups of wood ash to a large bucket; I always have it in abundance after turning on the stoves. To the ash I add a little table vinegar, about half a glass.
The ash itself is very nutritious and contains calcium, potassium, and phosphorus, which are important for plant nutrition. However, in their usual form, plants absorb these substances poorly. Vinegar helps make these elements soluble and available to plant roots. When I add vinegar to the ashes, a chemical reaction begins.
While the mixture is actively reacting, I dilute it with water from the well and let it sit so that all the beneficial salts are completely dissolved. I also add a pinch of turmeric to this nutrient blend, which helps fight disease and serves as additional nutrition for plants.
And the last thing I add is humatos. A whole glass of this miracle substance turns the soil into a soft, loose, moisture-wicking environment, ideal for plant growth.
So, step by step, we prepared my secret infusion that, despite its specific smell, works wonders! This crop makes my soil healthy and fertile, ready for the new season. After such preparation, my plants are not afraid of pests or diseases.
As soon as the last snow melts, I use this healing liquid again to water the beds so that they are saturated with all the necessary elements. Then it’s time to plant seedlings – tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetables.
My methods may seem obsolete to some, but my garden harvest speaks for itself: it is incomparably tasty. I put my love and care into each fruit, because for me gardening is not just a hobby, it is my life.
