The worst thing you can do with a spathiphyllum pot is to remove it from sunlight. This is exactly what my neighbor did, placing the plant on the bedside table at the back of the room. On the ground floor, when the windows were already partially covered by trees and shrubs growing nearby, some distance from the window the flower simply began to wilt.

It’s sunlight that the plant needs most, and the first thing I did was move the pot to the windowsill. The flower should like it here: there is enough light, but no direct sunlight, a lilac bush under the window protects from it.

Once again visiting my neighbor, I continued my action to save the plant, which gradually recovered on the windowsill, strongly recommending that it be replanted in loose soil. The pot contained ordinary soil from the garden. Piled up in a tight bundle, but the flower doesn’t like that. When repotting, be sure to remove all diseased and damaged leaves and roots.

The darkened leaves are not the result of dry air in the apartment, but of rotting roots due to too heavy soil. The plant didn’t grow in the shade, so it didn’t need a lot of water. After reading that “female happiness” loves humidity, the neighbor watered it abundantly and regularly, which only made the situation worse.
A month later, the plant came to life and even produced a couple of buds. Now the pot lives on the windowsill and at the back of the room, near the TV, it has been replaced by dried flowers.
