In winter I don’t need to buy green onions, as I learned how to grow them myself. I use egg trays for this. But the most interesting thing about this method is that it doesn’t require land! I want to tell you, I think many will definitely try growing green onions this way.

If you plant an onion now, you’ll definitely have your own veggies for the New Year’s table, and not the ones from the store.
First you need to prepare the onion. It should be soaked in warm water for 6 to 8 hours or overnight. The onion should be small in size to fit on the tray.
Next, take the egg tray. It can be cardboard or plastic. Divide the lid and the tray itself, where there are cells, into separate parts.
The lid will act as a tray, set it aside for now.
Make small holes in the cells, like this one:

Pat the onions dry, cut off the tops a bit, and place them in the cells.
Place it in a tray with water. There should be enough water for the roots to get wet. The bulb itself should not touch the water, otherwise it will start to rot.
Ready! Now we just need to have patience to wait for the feathers to grow. The water should be changed every other day.
As you can see, everything is very simple. Also, there is no soil, which means there is no soil.
If you want, you can disinfect the trays. But personally, sometimes I don’t do this, I immediately plant onions.
