Sometimes, despite the efforts made to clean our home daily, the results are unsatisfactory or bad. It’s not pleasant to realize that the floor still looks dirty after all the effort of cleaning it. This happens because we do not use the right products for the type of flooring in our home, but above all because dirt accumulates between the joints of the tiles. This dirt cannot be removed simply with a mop – another kind of attention is needed.
The method we are going to illustrate is also valid for another purpose: to keep away ants, cockroaches, spiders and insects of all kinds. So if you follow this guide, you’ll get a spotless floor and definitely scare away pesky bugs.
A miracle ingredient
It seems impossible but it’s true, there is a way to keep insects away without using insecticides that stain the soil. On the contrary, with this method, you push them back and clean the floor. What you need is mainly one ingredient: mothballs. Mothballs are famous for their incredible insect repellent power. Get fifteen balls.
The second ingredient is the fabric softener we use in the washing machine: you need a complete one. The third ingredient is our great ally in both the culinary and cleaning fields: white wine vinegar. You will need 200 ml. The fourth ingredient is dish detergent, three tablespoons will be enough. The last element is inevitable when it comes to cleaning: obviously it is water.
So mothballs, fabric softener, wine vinegar, dish detergent and water. It’s the winning team against dirt and bugs. Let’s take a look at the exact procedure.
The procedure
As soon as you get the above ingredients, you can get to work and follow these steps. The first thing you need to do is wear gloves to protect your hands: you need to crush the 15 mothballs and grind them into a powder. The powder obtained must be poured into a container filled with hot, almost boiling, and well mixed water. Next, you need to add the white wine vinegar and dish detergent to the bowl, mixing well this time as well. After this step, it’s the turn of the softener, keep stirring and add more hot water.
This miraculous “potion” will be created and all that’s left is to keep washing the floor as usual.
