Do you have orchids but the roots don’t look healthy? There is a natural remedy against dead roots that you should try now.

orchid fertilizer

Orchids are ornamental plants that have always held a great fascination for many gardeners. But as many have discovered for themselves,  the beauty of orchids  is sometimes accompanied by a  difficulty  in managing these plants and, above all, in keeping them alive enough to make them bloom.

For orchids, as for many other plants, flowers are one of the ways in which they can reproduce, but if the plant is not well it will first try to regain its strength and only then will it propagate. If you want to  help  your plants live better  and flourish, you have to work from the roots. You can do this with this all-natural invigorator.

A trick for dead orchid roots

In nature, in the tropical forests from which they mostly come, orchids live attached to other trees and other very hardy plants. However, when they have to live inside a jar, it is clear that nutrients  must  be provided by man and cannot be absorbed naturally through the roots. That is why, like any other plant, orchids also need pampering and  fertilizer.

coffee plants

There are specific products on the market for this type of plant, but why spend money when you probably  already have everything you need at home  ? Because, in reality, to have healthy and prosperous plants, all you have to do is help them with a little  coffee.  In fact, as tradition dictates, coffee can be an excellent fertilizer that  stimulates the resumption of root activity  and therefore improves the appearance of the plant as a whole.

Obviously, there is no need to make a mocha in the morning and share a cup with the plants on the windowsill. But in reality, the process of creating this coffee-based fertilizer is not very different from that used to prepare the black drink par excellence.

Coffee for the orchid

To obtain a good fertilizer you need a liter of hot water into which you pour a few tablespoons of  coffee grounds.  The grounds are fine and therefore it is not necessary to use fresh coffee. Leave the coffee grounds to infuse in the water until it has cooled and then leave  to infuse for another 24 hours  .

By doing this, the coffee grounds will release all the substances they contain into the water, which can then be used as fertilizer. After 24 hours, filter everything out and you can start pampering your orchids. A good way to gain energy is  to immerse the plants  with the entire pot in the water and coffee solution for about 10 minutes. This way, the roots will be able to  absorb  everything they need. For long-term results, you should repeat the operation at least once a month.
