You can create a fully functional antenna using aluminum foil on your TV. By following these simple steps you can make it yourself. Here’s how to do it.

Television is an electronic instrument used to receive and display audiovisual signals . These audiovisual signals are then projected on the screen. It is a device through which entertainment and information are offered to citizens. Movies, news, television shows and much more. Compared to many years ago, television has undergone many transformations , both in form and audiovisual quality. The advances have been remarkable and, to date, we have highly technological and high-performance tools.
A few years ago, the aesthetics of televisions were very different from today: large, massive screens with limited video quality. Now we have LCD, OLED, QLED flat screens with very high resolution in 4K or 8K . Despite the huge leap in quality, there are problems that can arise regardless of the model of our television and regardless of how much we spend on it. In fact, the most common problems do not arise from the television but from its antenna . Let’s find out together how an antenna works and how to solve all the problems by creating one yourself. All you need is aluminum foil and copper !
TV antenna: a technology that is not infallible
The TV antenna is an instrument of fundamental importance . It is a device designed to receive television signals. These signals are transmitted by pulses that travel through the air and therefore do not require cable connections. What antennas do is capture all the radio waves that carry audiovisual signals that will be translated into sounds and images on the screen. There are many types of antennas in circulation, from digital to internal, from parabolic to dipolar.

Modern technologies have made it possible to change the way transmission is transmitted : it is no longer analogue transmission but digital transmission. With this transformation, many antennas have started to receive digital terrestrial TV signals. The choice of antenna, however, depends mainly on your geographical location and the quality of the signal available in the area in question.
As for the satellite dish, which is the most widespread, we can say that very often, major reception problems arise . The signal, especially in bad weather conditions, can weaken or disappear completely. To solve this problem we propose a very simple , free and intuitive solution. Creating an antenna with aluminum foil ensures that you receive strong and consistent television signals. Here’s how to do it.
All the steps to bring your own aluminum foil antenna to life
You are on vacation and you do not have your latest generation TV at your disposal, your favorite movie or TV show is about to be released and the TV does not receive any kind of signal. How to do it? The solution is very simple and within reach. All you need is a TV cable and aluminum foil . The first step is to get all the copper wire inside the cable . It is about a few centimeters of copper that we then have to shape with the help of pliers.

After shaping the first copper wire into a circle, we do the same with a shorter wire, creating a smaller circle. We will need to connect the two circles using smaller copper wires, until our structure looks like a real parabola . Remember to create the “tail” of the dish with a copper wire. Once the operation is finished we can use a sheet of aluminum foil: the latter will serve to cover our structure. All we have to do is connect the tail of our antenna to the cable connected to the TV: the signal will be very strong and all the channels will be clearly visible and at our disposal.
