Cloves, an excellent repellent against flies and mosquitoes
Cloves are obtained by drying the buds of the Eugenia caryophyllus plant before they bloom. When they become dark and harden, they take the form of nails with their heads. Known in China as early as 200 BC, they were used for their therapeutic properties.

- Place a handful of cloves in a small plastic container;
- Add a little ethyl alcohol at 70 degrees;
- Pour a few drops of eucalyptus oil into the container.
Stir the container and then fill it to over half with coarse salt. When you have added the salt, add more ethyl alcohol to cover the salt. Put some cloves, a few more drops of eucalyptus oil and a little ethyl alcohol on top.
Start spreading salt again and at this point the container is ready to be used to ward off flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches.
How to use the prepared container
