  2. Humidity:   Humidity, especially during cold weather when windows tend to fog up, also contributes to the colour degradation of PVC.
  3. Quality of materials:   The use of inferior quality PVC in the manufacture of window sills is also a common cause of yellowing.
  4. Improper maintenance:   Using inappropriate cleaning products or insufficient maintenance can accelerate the yellowing process.
  5. Incorrect installation:   Unprofessional installation, involving the use of substances harmful to PVC (such as certain types of polyurethane foam), can also be a cause.

Before installation, it is advisable to consult with the seller about the quality of the PVC and the possible presence of an anti-UV protective film, as well as the recommended maintenance methods.

Cleaning methods:

  • Hydrogen peroxide

  1. Apply hydrogen peroxide with a sponge to the yellowed areas,
  2. Let it act for a few minutes,
  3. And finally, clean with a damp cloth.

  • Baking soda and vinegar

  1. Sprinkle baking soda on the windowsill.
  2. Then rub with a cloth soaked in vinegar. This chemical reaction allows for effective cleaning.
  3. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes before wiping off with a clean cloth.

  • Stain remover powder based on active oxygen.

  1. Dilute the active oxygen-based stain remover powder in water,
  2. Apply the solution to the edge,
  3. Leave to act for 15 to 30 minutes (depending on the degree of dirt),
  4. Then rinse with warm water and dry.
