The Simple Trick to Keep Silverfish Away from Your Home

When it comes to cleanliness and hygiene in our homes, a common challenge is the presence of small, unwanted visitors, including silverfish. Also known as silverfish, these insects often find refuge in our bathrooms, attracted by humidity and heat. Although they are harmless to health, their presence can be unpleasant. Fortunately, there are effective and natural methods to keep them away while giving your bathroom a pleasant scent.

What do silverfish look like?

The silverfish, or lepisma, is   a small insect that measures approximately 7 to 10 mm  . It is recognizable by its silver color, threadlike antennae, and the three characteristic bristles at the end of its abdomen. These insects are not dangerous to humans or pets, but are often considered undesirable due to their presence in homes, especially in damp areas such as bathrooms.

How do silverfish end up inside the house?

These insects are present in almost all latitudes, except in extreme regions such as the Arctic and Antarctica. Originally from the tropics, they have spread throughout the world. In our homes, they are attracted to   food scraps  ,   organic matter (such as peeled skin, paper or fabric) and warm, humid   places    such as bathrooms.
