That’s why we think of   white vinegar as an impeccable ally against stubborn grease stains   , thanks to its acetic acid content   ! In fact, this acidic solution is known for its antibacterial properties and also for its power to soften grease effortlessly.

How to do it?

  1. We start by removing the inner racks to free the oven;
  2. Mix half a glass of white vinegar with 1 liter of water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle;
  3. Spray the mixture on all dirty surfaces of the oven;
  4. We highlight the grills, the plates, the side walls as well as the bottom of the oven that receives all the remains of burnt food;
  5. The product is left to act overnight to melt the embedded dirt;
  6. The next morning, vigorously scrub the entire softened surface with white vinegar, using a brush or dishwashing sponge;
  7. Rinse the oven with a sponge soaked in clean water;
  8. Wipe with a fairly dry cloth until the surface shines;
  9. Before finishing, we also give a few generous sprays to the windows and the oven door, polishing them with newspaper and that’s it!

2. Baking soda

We never lose hope of bringing back the shine of a dirty oven as long as we are armed with baking soda. Yes, this abrasive white powder works wonders when it comes to removing grime. Moreover, this tip is known to be useful against grease stuck to oven plates.

How to do it?

  1. Add a few drops of water to the equivalent of one cup of baking soda to form a paste;
  2. Apply the paste to the baking tray and all greased areas;
  3. Let it sit overnight;
  4. Rinse with a damp sponge in the morning;
  5. The plate is left to dry in the open air.

Bonus tip:  You can also use baking soda and white vinegar in the same recipe.

  1. First, sprinkle a cup of baking soda over the greased areas that have previously been wet;
  2. Let the powder sit for a few hours;
  3. Then, we spray the white vinegar. This will produce a chemical reaction that will remove all the dirt.

3. Cooking salt

How to do it?

  1. We start by moistening the dirty areas with a damp cloth;
  2. Cover the entire baking tray with cooking salt;
  3. The device heats up to 50°C;
  4. We turn it off once the salt turns golden and wait for it to cool;
  5. We sweep away the grease-soaked salt using a brush or a dry sponge;
  6. Clean the inside of the oven with a cloth soaked in water and dishwashing liquid or Marseille soap before rinsing it with a damp cloth;
  7. We dry and air as usual and that’s it!

4. Lemon juice

It’s the side walls and windows that have lost their shine during cooking, and it’s the citric acid in lemon juice that comes to the rescue! Where it is used, there is no room for grease or bad smells. And to benefit from its purifying properties, it is best to use it in the following way.

Tip 1:

  1. Collect the juice from 2 to 3 lemons and pour it into a spray bottle;
  2. Add a cup of water to the bottle and shake the mixture well;
  3. We drink at will;
  4. We scrub the windows, side walls and grates with a used toothbrush or a dishwashing brush;
  5. We rinse and clean with a sponge;
  6. We admire the result and especially the smell!

Plus, this tip works great after preparing smelly dishes like fish, just follow these few steps.

Tip 2

  1. Place a high-rimmed ovenproof dish or container filled with three parts lemon juice and one part water;
  2. Let it heat up for 30 minutes at 180°C. The steam released will soften the dirt inside the oven;
  3. Once cooled, wipe with a sponge to remove softened grease from dishes, side walls and oven racks;
  4. The acidic mixture can be used to scrub the interior walls;
  5. We polished the windows with newspaper.
