Balsamic vinegar is one of the ingredients that everyone has at home, because it is useful for many preparations, first courses, second courses and side dishes.

Balsamic vinegar

This is a recommended seasoning to use in the kitchen because it makes recipes unique and exceptional, and it is no coincidence that it is so appreciated by everyone for its particular, sweet and sour flavour that is impossible to do without.

As valuable as it can be at home, using it means accepting the risk of getting stained.

Balsamic Vinegar Stains, When They Are a Problem

Balsamic vinegar stains, if dried, are very difficult to remove, because the product is so pigmented that it spreads quickly, in the same way it dries and stains any type of fabric from the most delicate to the least delicate.

To remove balsamic vinegar stains, you need to know some natural remedies that solve the problem in no time.

It can happen at any time and to any person, even the most careful, to stain themselves with balsamic vinegar, for example while eating a good salad or while dressing it or while preparing first courses, second courses and side dishes. Just one splash is enough to ruin fabrics, sometimes irreparably , sometimes in an easily resolvable way.

How to deal with balsamic vinegar stains

The first thing to do if you notice balsamic vinegar stains is to intervene immediately, because if the vinegar penetrates too deeply into the fibers , eliminating it becomes truly impossible.

There is a risk of not being able to remove the halos because of its dark, predominant color. Dozens of washes are not enough to remedy it . The only way is to act immediately on the stain.

Paper towels, dish soap and washing machine, the solution at hand

In this case, it is advisable to take a sheet of absorbent paper and dab the area, being careful not to rub because this will make the situation worse.

Then it is a good idea to soak the stained garment or fabric under cold water, pour a few drops of dish soap on it and then massage the area until all traces of dirt have been removed. Finally, rinse and put everything in the washing machine.

To remove balsamic vinegar stains , you can also use coarse salt. Put a little directly on the stain and leave it to act for 30 minutes, then brush, rinse the affected area and put the garment in the washing machine.

As for washing, it is advisable to follow the instructions directly on the label to avoid choosing the wrong cycle and therefore the wrong temperature and perhaps shrinking or ruining the colours of the garments.

Baking soda, a valuable ally in the kitchen and beyond

Another alternative is to use baking soda, which is a wonder in house cleaning. In fact, many housewives use it to clean the sink, to whiten and polish stained fabrics, and to eliminate grease and dirt from the hob.

To do this, just pour a little bit of it on the area to be treated, then leave it on for about ten minutes, then rub it using delicate movements that go from the outside to the inside. It is advisable to perform the movement as indicated so as not to extend the stain.

Then proceed with a normal wash that allows you to eliminate all traces of vinegar left. Alternatively, instead of using bicarbonate, coarse salt, you can use talcum powder or corn starch.

Both substances absorb the vinegar and its fatty part, making it much easier to remove. For a fairly large stain, you need to prepare a mixture with liquid dish soap and lemon juice. It is used to pre-treat the stain before proceeding with washing in the washing machine.

The mixture is spread a little on the affected part, then gently massaged and finally left to rest for 2 minutes. Then it is completely removed with absorbent paper, the garment is put under hot water to wash it and then in the washing machine.

Be careful because in case of dry stains these remedies do not work at all, so it is recommended to use Marseille soap flakes by dissolving a little in hot water, leaving the garment to soak for a few minutes and then proceed as usual.
