Whirpool, the new headquarters in Milan
Whirlpool’s new headquarters will be located in Milan, precisely in Via Varesina, between the Mind and the city center. The structure will have the appearance of an American campus, so it will have modern and innovative lines.
The building, therefore, takes shape in the area that, some time ago, was occupied by a factory. The headquarters will be completed in 2023 and will be opened to replace the one in Pero. The design is by the Realstep and Jamestown studios.
The design of the structure was conceived to make work more agile, especially in light of the changes brought about by the recent Coronavirus pandemic, which has redefined working standards, also with the introduction of smart working.
As the company has specified, it will provide its employees with a comfortable, innovative and sustainable environment, with a low impact on the environment and with Leed Gold certification.

The volunteering of the company’s workers

To make their contribution in this sense, the workers helped to repaint the walls of the Certosa railway station and clean the area. The walls of the Console Marcello Comprehensive Institute have also been repainted.
In addition, an artistic project was created, born from the mind of the Nooro designers, which was created by volunteers on the same day, on the wall granted near the tram stop in Piazza Cacciatori delle Alpi.
As explained by Fabio Colombo, senior director of human resources EMEA at Whirpool itself, the company is very happy to have taken part in this volunteer activity, which involves people and institutions, as well as private individuals who act, all together, in the redevelopment of the place, also for the benefit of the community that lives in this place.
