By pouring a sufficient amount of baking soda on windowsills, this ingredient will ensure that ants and various insects that proliferate during the warmer months (especially flies) are kept away from our home. Alternatively, it is also possible to prepare a solution by mixing the following ingredients in a spray bottle.

All you need is a teaspoon of baking soda, four tablespoons of olive oil and 50 cl of water. After mixing, shake the solution before spraying it on the corners of the windows. To keep insects away, you can also use other natural products to apply on windowsills.
For example, lemon, which is able to keep ants away. In addition to its disinfectant and cleaning action, lemon is an amazing natural insect repellent. After slicing a lemon, simply place a few slices (or even half of the entire slice) near a window. Citrus fruits will keep unwanted guests away and also spread a pleasant aroma inside the house. You can also use citrus peels by placing them directly on windowsills, to keep flies and mosquitoes away.
Another essential ingredient to keep insects away from your home is white vinegar. In fact, this product is a good repellent for mosquitoes and flies: just fill a glass with white vinegar and place it near the window to immediately notice the effects.

Lavender can also be used as an ally against insects: this element seems to be formidable against spiders (but also against moths, flies, mosquitoes and fleas).
