When can you plant onions?
To do this, dig a hole to a depth of 10 cm, take a handful of soil and squeeze it into your fist. If the soil is wet and sticks together forming a lump, it is a good sign; If it crumbles in the hand, it’s too late. Another sign is the weather. The average daily temperature should be between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius. Tulips and daffodils are also a good sign.

How to prepare a bed for onions.
Onions love loose, neutral soil. If you’re planting onions in a feather, prepare the garden with three-year-old hummus. If onions are grown for turnips, ash will be an ideal fertilizer. Before planting, lightly compact the top layer of soil so that the onions have a better chance of establishing themselves.

How to Treat Seeds
Onion seeds should be heated a couple of weeks before planting, for example, near a heating radiator. Treat the seeds in a bright pink solution of potassium permanganate before planting.

How to Plant Onions
Plant the onions in rows 2 to 4 cm deep, keeping in mind the size of the bulb. The distance between the furrows should be 20 cm, and between the bulbs, 6 to 8 cm. Small sets almost never sprout, and onions that have been exposed to frost can sprout, so keep an eye on weather forecasts.
