I will tell you about a method of planting potatoes that my uncle from Belarus shared with me. I tried it in practice and was surprised by the result: now my harvest is always excellent.
The scheme for planting potatoes using the square cluster method with a distance between bushes and rows of 60×60 or even 70×70 cm. This distance allows the tubers to fully develop. The new tubers will occupy all this space.
The second secret is how to position the planting tuber: the shoots facing down. Thus, the stolons elongate and acquire lateral branches, which contributes to the growth of a large number of large tubers.
However, with such planting, digging up potatoes can prove difficult, as the tubers are found around the bush. Oroi needs to dig up everything around the tuber. But the harvest justifies all the costs.
