Taking care of the orchid is very simple, but fungi can attack it and with this trick you will get a super leafy plant. Here’s how to do it.

Orchid

The orchid is a very common plant and is found in particular in apartments. In fact, with proper care, it will be very simple to treat and it will always have flowers on the plant. Ideal temperature between 20°C, without direct exposure to the sun and frequent but not abundant watering.

But like all plants, the orchid can also attract pests or fungi. The orchid will give you clear signals and you will have to pick them up immediately. When the plant has fungi or pests, the leaves fall off and turn yellow. The flowers will fall off and the stem will dry out. If you go and see, even the roots will be different.

Mushroom Orchid: Here's How to Act

Acting is not that difficult and below we will see all the steps to eliminate orchid fungi in order to make it bloom again. In fact, only a healthy plant will be flooded with colorful flowers that will brighten up the environment in which it is located. So here’s what to do with an orchid that has a fungus on it.

Fungus-free orchid with a single ingredient

The orchid is found in nature and has up to 25,000 species, but it can also be attacked by fungi and parasites. However, to eliminate them, you can use a single ingredient that you have at home and not buy specific insecticides or fungicides that can often contain chemicals.

The ingredient we are talking about is garlic, which is used to fight fungi thanks to its high sulfur content. Simply take a clove of garlic, crush it and chop it. At this point, place it in a container with a lid that holds about 350 ml of water. Close and leave like this for 24 hours.

Garlic: the secret to always having a thriving orchid

The next day, before drinking the garlic water, you can prepare the orchid. First, remove it from the pot, removing all the moss and leaving the roots free. The latter should then be cleaned by cutting off the rotten and dead ones. Also remove the dried stems and yellowing leaves.

Once you’ve cleaned the orchid, rinse it thoroughly under running water as well. Drain the water with the garlic and wipe all the leaves with a cotton ball soaked in it. At this point, you can pour the roots into a bowl with the garlic water.

Leave it like this for about 30 minutes and let it dry for 3 days. To dry the orchid properly, use a string to hang it upside down. Just stick it and hang it. At this point, you can recompose your orchid which will now be cleansed of the different fungi and ready to bloom again.

To put it back in the vase, all you need is some crust that is left in water for about 3 days and some foam to moisten. Pour the crust into the plastic vase first, then the damp, pressed foam. Now place the roots of the orchid and let the moss and bark fall on them. To further help the plant, mist the leaves with moisture-retaining water.
