Did you just use eggs to make your lunch? Don’t throw away the trays: this way you can reuse them intelligently in the garden.

In less than 10 days it will be spring, and with its arrival, our balconies and gardens will also be populated with colorful flowers and plants. A way to make the house more elegant and cheerful, but one that needs good care, especially in the summer months, when high temperatures risk damaging shrubs and plants. For this reason, fertilizers and special products are used for the garden. In reality, as is often the case, this is also where natural products come to our aid the most: it is not essential to buy expensive sprays and solutions, especially since we even have what we need in our food waste. This is the case of eggshells, which we usually throw away in a hurry as soon as we use the yolks and whites. Well, we’d be better off if we didn’t get rid of it so easily!

Don’t get rid of eggshells, you’ll need them in the garden

What not everyone knows is that trays are excellent for fertilizing the vegetation in our garden and can be used in different situations. Therefore, it is best to set them aside after you have used the eggs to cook the dishes and serve them this way. The result will leave us speechless in the truest sense of the word.

Sometimes it happens that it has to do with plants that tend to have stagnant water: by putting broken husks in the soil, their drainage is improved. But that’s not all, because half a tray can also be used to accelerate the growth of shoots: full of soil and seeds, the calcium in the walls enriches the soil and promotes germination. You can then bury everything in your chosen area.

By sprinkling small pieces on the garden soil, the properties of the peels are transmitted to the vegetables, promoting healthy and even rapid growth. And if it is the frequent visit of feline friends who choose our land to deposit their physiological needs, their fragments, scattered in correspondence with fruits and vegetables, will be quite unpleasant to their delicate paws, and will move away from them to drive them away. Better think twice before disposing of it in the trash can!
