It’s the season of colours, and the tulips in bloom are the undisputed protagonists of the spring rebirth. Bright and elegant, they triumph on balconies and terraces, and in parks and gardens they stand out as cheerful colour palettes to interrupt the emerald green of the lawn. They belong to the tubercle family, as do daffodils, hyacinths, freesias, buttercups, etc. Plant them now, take care of them with care, and they will reward you handsomely between now and summer by reserving an almost painted corner to envy neighbors and passers-by! To do this at best, try making this really effective, homemade, and improved fertilizer from waste materials for free. Curious to learn more? Begin!

Colorful and lush tulips: this is how it works

The ideal soil for planting tulips and bulbs is well-drained and soft, well-lit, but not directly exposed to sunlight. Store them in a fairly dry place, away from drafts and rain. Don’t save solid fertilizer for them that is too heavy for their fragile bulb, which tends to feel oppressed and smothered and would have a hard time blooming. It’s best to opt for a liquid strain that’s lighter and easily absorbed, but don’t overdo it with the amounts so you don’t dilute them. Without having to resort to expensive and inaccessible chemicals, you can do it yourself for free. So get:

  • Water, 300 ml
  • Banana, only 1 peel
  • Coffee, 3 coffee makers or 3 capsules.

Banana gives off potassium, which is very useful for making your flowers lush, coffee releases nitrogen, which enriches oxygen and makes the colors bright. In an airtight container, cut the water, coffee grounds and banana peel into small pieces. Close the lid and let it rest for 12 hours. Filter the contents directly into the watering can and moisten the soil with it, about every two weeks. You will see an extraordinary flower!
