Tomato and orchid

Entering a house and admiring the rooms enriched by the presence of splendid flowers is undoubtedly a very pleasant experience, not only for the eyes. Some plants, in fact, not only give color and luminosity to the apartment, but are also capable of giving off an intoxicating aroma that spreads to practically every corner of the home. That’s why many people choose to grow plants not only in gardens or balconies, but also indoors. Among the most popular green friends are undoubtedly orchids, which we find more and more frequently even inside houses.

Orchids always healthy with this natural solution: all the steps

Orchids are very elegant plants that give off beautiful flowers and a really pleasant fragrance. However, to ensure that they are always healthy and constantly produce their wonderful flowers, it is necessary to take care of them carefully and that they never lack the necessary food.

Orchids

To achieve this goal, many choose to rely on some of the chemicals sold in specialty stores. You can actually make sure that orchids grow strong and healthy by choosing excellent natural remedies. After all the flowers have bloomed, the first thing we should do is ‘lighten’ the orchid by cutting off all those branches where the flowers did not grow. We’re going to put white cement over the cut, which allows the cuts to disinfect and heal quickly. The next step is to take a tomato, cut it in half, and then slice it. Why the tomato? This vegetable is rich in beneficial properties, including vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. Therefore, tomatoes are a perfect food to allow orchids to grow very quickly. Place the tomato cut into small pieces in a large jar and fill it with water (approximately 300 ml). Blend everything so that you get a liquid solution, which you will then filter into another container using a sieve. Inside this container where we have already introduced the solution we are going to add more water, to obtain a liter of tomato juice. At this point we can follow two paths to guarantee adequate nutrition to our orchids.

It doesn’t take much to grow your orchids: here’s how

The first method is to dip cotton balls in the solution we have just made. The cotton soaked in tomato juice must be wrapped around the branch that we initially cut, hooking it with a hair clip or a clip.

Tomatoes

This is an operation that will be repeated every seven days to ensure that the buds always remain moist. The rest of the days it is possible to sprinkle a little water on the branches of the flowers, to ensure the right level of humidity. The second method also involves dipping cotton balls in tomato juice, but for a different purpose. In this case, in fact, we will pass the disc over the leaves of the plant, rubbing carefully and delicately. Tomato is a vegetable that provides a lot of antioxidant and antibacterial properties, so the leaves can only benefit from them. On the other hand, this operation should be performed every two weeks to always have green and healthy leaves.
