Here are some simple tips to always have fresh garlic available to use to flavor our meals and beyond.

Italian gastronomy is known all over the world because it is full of delicious recipes made from fresh and quality ingredients. All of our preparations are characterized not only by the raw materials we use for their production, but also by spices and condiments . The latter actually add flavor, taste and uniqueness to all our dishes.
One of the things that must never be missing in the kitchen is undoubtedly garlic, which , in addition to being indispensable for the creation of some of our dishes, also has various beneficial properties for our body. This ingredient is actually considered a true natural antibiotic due to the presence of allicin. In addition, it is able to strengthen the immune system and contains several minerals, including zinc; manganese; iodine; iron; magnesium and many others.
So we can safely say that garlic is one of the most versatile products of all, ideal both for use as a spice in the kitchen and for our personal well-being. For this reason, it would be good and proper to be able to grow it at home . Is this possible? Here is everything you need to know in this regard.
How to grow garlic in the garden
If you live in the open countryside or possibly own a plot of land near your home, it is possible to recreate a small garlic plantation . That way we’ll always have it handy.

When you decide to plant garlic, you must first pay attention to the time of year in which you decide to plant it. The ideal time is autumn , so that you can proceed with the harvest even in the summer.
It is also a good practice to buy garlic for planting in shops specializing in the sale of plants; always put them in the ground with the tip up and water the sprouts regularly, but without exaggerating with the amount of water, throughout the year.
Restoring a plantation in your home
However, if you want to plant garlic despite the absence of a garden, you can do it indoors. All we need is a container (a yogurt or margarine jar is enough); some soil and of course some cloves of garlic.

First, make holes in the bottom of the container we have available, place it on a plate and pour less than two centimeters (about half an inch) of soil inside. You can then proceed to insert whole cloves of garlic into the soil always with the tip up and without removing the skin. At this point, all we have to do is add more soil, this time about two and a half centimeters.
Once this process is complete, we will have to take care of our little garlic plantation on a regular basis. It is necessary to place it in a sunny place in the house, water it and from time to time cut off the flowers that form. This will help retain all the flavor of the garlic.
If over time we begin to notice the presence of leaves, it will mean that the growth of the plant is proceeding correctly and that from next summer we will be able to benefit from the fruits of our labor.
