By carefully preparing this natural syrup, even the most annoying cough can be eliminated.
During the fall and winter months, it is always best to be well-stocked when going out due to the unfavorable temperatures . In addition to a nice wool coat, it is always better to also have a hat and scarf , also made entirely of wool. When the mercury drops sharply and the air is nothing but snow, you also need gloves and boots to keep your hands and feet warm.
However, even if we take all these precautions, we are still not safe from the various viruses that attack easily in the colder months. It is certainly no coincidence that the flu mainly appears from October to April: in most cases it is just a cold, but it is not uncommon for it to be accompanied by fever, sore throat and, above all, cough, which can sometimes become really unbearable. .
An unbearable cough? A natural remedy can make it go away
How to get rid of a cough as quickly as possible? This question is asked by everyone who is forced to stay at home and cannot stop coughing due to completely irritated and blocked airways. The most obvious solution is to contact your family doctor , who will prescribe you cough medicine, for example, an effective syrup.

However, if someone wants to resort to natural remedies instead , a homemade syrup can really be the ideal solution. We are talking about bay leaf and lemon syrup, which seems to be a real panacea for even the most stubborn cough. In fact, its action helps to cleanse the lungs and strengthen the immunity of those who decide to use this syrup.
On the other hand, we know that bay leaves are an excellent natural remedy for colds, coughs and seasonal flu, as they quickly eliminate excess mucus. Therefore, it is recommended to first wash the bay leaves carefully ; then pour some water into a container until the bottom is covered and then add fifteen tablespoons of sugar (cane sugar is also suitable).

Now you have to put the container on the fire, keep the heat very low and mix the sugar so that it caramelizes . Once the sugar has dissolved, you can add a glass of hot water and then also the bay leaves and mix everything well. Cooking should last another three minutes , still on low heat, covering the container with a lid.

After three minutes, remove the container from the heat and let it cool. In the meantime, prepare the lemon (excellent antioxidant) by adding a spoonful of sodium bicarbonate to a bowl of water and mixing carefully. Put the lemon in the bowl and wash it well, then dry it and clean it with a towel: then cut half of the lemon into slices and squeeze the other half.
Now filter the bay leaf syrup with a fork, pour it into a bottle or jar, and then add the lemon juice to the syrup. Finally, add one or two slices of lemon to the syrup. The jar should be closed with a lid and stored in the refrigerator. The solution must be taken for two weeks: three spoons a day are enough to relieve the cough and feel better immediately.
