Diet is crucial for gut health. By including a specific ingredient in our meals, it is easier to detoxify. Let’s see what it is.

In   1998,  Dr.   Michael D. Gershon   of   Columbia University put   forward his theory that every person    has   two brains . In what sense? According to this theory, the gut is our second brain   . In fact, scientific studies have shown that our gut   contains over 100 million neurons   . These are associated with feelings of   anxiety, stress and tension  .

Given these data, we understand that our   intestine is   a really   important  organ and that it     must be   protected by a correct and careful diet  , since our physical and psychological health   depends on it. Unfortunately, more and more people suffer from   intestinal problems   that lead to an   accumulation of toxins   in the body. What are these problems and how can they   be solved  ? There are   foods   that help us   ,   let’s see which ones.

Constipation and accumulation of toxins: a common problem

As we have already mentioned, more and more people,   adults and children   , are suffering from   intestinal problems   such as   constipation   . It is a condition that affects the intestines and causes symptoms such as   abdominal pain   ,   stomach pain   ,   cramps   ,   nausea and bloating . All of these symptoms can  be attributed   to irregular bowel movements  caused by constipation  . However, this irregularity has its origin in the inability to eliminate toxins and waste   from the body, which can have a variety of causes. So what should you do?

Before resorting to   excessive doses of medications and laxatives , it is important to know that constipation can be combated  with a   balanced diet   and a   healthy lifestyle  . In particular, you must  eat     the   right foods : fiber, fruits and vegetables, legumes   and, of course, plenty of   water   .    Above all,  fruits and vegetables provide the amount of fiber  we   need and contain   enzymes that  make digestion   more efficient. Let’s discover an   effective recipe   for taking a   fruit mixture  useful  for   detoxifying our intestines .

How to remove toxins from your body with these ingredients

A   quick and easy way    to always have   help at hand when you have a sluggish bowel is to prepare a detox smoothie   . How to do it? We need:   plums, raisins, 500 ml of water, a pear and two kiwis.

To prepare our smoothie  , cut the   plums into small pieces   and add them to the   raisins   in a small saucepan.  Add 500 ml of water  and, once mixed,  let it cook for about ten minutes. After this time, we should have obtained a  broth  that we   will pour into   a jug or cup  and filter through a sieve   . This last step is particularly   important   because it allows us to separate the   liquid  obtained from the solid part   , that is, the raisins and plums in pieces.

At this point you must puree the raisins and cooked plums   with a   hand blender  . After that we will get a sort of   fruit compote . If you want you can set aside    part of this compote   and  consume   one or two teaspoons a day . We will put the rest aside because we will need it later   . Now you must   clean the pear and the two kiwis   , cut them into pieces, put them in a   blender and pour in the broth  previously obtained by cooking the plums and raisins   . We add   1 or 2 tablespoons   of our   fruit compote  and   blend   everything until we    get our detoxifying smoothie .

To improve its effectiveness, you can   drink a glass of smoothie every day   , for   breakfast   or as   a snack  during the day   . This preparation is not only   quick and easy, but also  practical   , as you   can keep the smoothie in the fridge   and drink it during the week.

Because it’s good

Why is the   mixture of these fruits a panacea for  detoxifying the intestines   ? The reason lies in the   properties   of   plums, raisins, pears and kiwis   . Plums are  especially known  for their   laxative effect, which thus  promotes intestinal transit   . This is because plums   contain sorbitol   , a   natural laxative   , but also   chlorogenic and neochlorogenic acid, all substances that  stimulate intestinal motility   . In addition, plums contain   soluble fiber   , which, thanks to its properties, helps     maintain the bacterial flora in our intestines.

What about   kiwis   ? This fruit is also   rich in fiber   and stimulates  intestinal transit   and   regularity  . Suffice it to say that an   average kiwi,   weighing almost   70 g,  contains   about   2 grams of fiber .

In addition, a   medium-sized pear  contains 6 grams of fiber, which is also an additional  source of sorbitol   . Raisins,   on the other hand,   aid   digestion   , can   relieve constipation   and   promote intestinal transit  . In addition, it contains   magnesium and potassium   , which help regulate   stomach   acidity and facilitate the   elimination of toxins  .
