Stuck zipper on your jeans or pants? This problem happens often, but don’t worry, here are 3 tips to get you started again.

When your zipper gets stuck and doesn’t want to go forward or back, it’s really a big problem! Sometimes it can even happen while you’re wearing the garment, but what can you do to prevent the zipper from breaking and to keep it sliding effortlessly? There are different solutions to unblock the zip , but there are 3 that are effective and will allow you to keep the zip intact, here we tell you which ones!

Rub candle wax on the stuck zipper.
Has the zipper on your blouse or pants gotten stuck and you don’t know what to do? A quick and easy way to open it and not break it is candle wax . Here’s how to apply it:
- Take a piece of sail and thread it through the zipper;
- Also rub wax on the outside of the zipper;
- Massage the wax with your fingers so that it adheres to your teeth;
- At this point try to open it.
If you have performed the procedure correctly, the zipper should open immediately and easily . The wax softens the zipper teeth and helps them slide even when there is a blockage. Be careful to pull it down slowly so as not to break it.
The pencil to unlock the zipper.
A pencil is also one of the most effective methods for unlocking a zipper when it gets stuck. Sometimes this problem can occur due to the formation of rust or dirt, or simply due to a clumsy movement. In these cases, a quick solution can be a pencil, here we explain how to use it:
- Rub the tip of the pencil over the zipper;
- Repeat the operation;
- Try to open the zipper.

The zipper will work perfectly thanks to the lubricating action of graphite . Its application allows the problem to be solved immediately and in a few seconds the zip will go up and down quickly.
Lubricate the zipper with Vaseline.
An excellent way to reset the zipper and prevent it from breaking is to lubricate it with something soft. You can do this using Vaseline , perfect for making it work and unblocking it thanks to its emollient and slippery action. To do this, you can use a cotton pad and proceed as follows:
- Cover the zipper with the cotton ball soaked in Vaseline;
- Be careful to thread the bundle through all sides of the zipper;
- Lubricate each tooth well.
To make this operation easier, initially apply a minimum amount of product on the zipper. If the zipper does not want to open and still resists, then increase the amount of Vaseline , but it should never be excessive.
After applying the Vaseline, try to open the zipper, doing so slowly to avoid breaking it . If it opens, move the tab back and forth a little to help the zipper slide smoothly.
If necessary, wipe the Vaseline-soaked tab again to improve sliding. If there is a blockage in the tab, wipe it with Vaseline and it should unblock immediately. When finished, remove any Vaseline residue with a dry cloth and be careful not to get it dirty on the garment as this could damage it. This method is also suitable for plastic zippers.
As you can see, unblocking the zipper with the indicated methods is easy and you will be able to make it slide smoothly in a few seconds. Keep these 3 tips in mind so you don’t give up when your zipper gets stuck and put them into practice. It is important that you carry out the different steps carefully and without forcing the zipper, since as soon as you apply the indicated products it will slide practically without difficulty.
