Toothpaste on joints.

Tile flooring is  one of the most aesthetically beautiful floors in existence  and one of the most chosen and loved. It has a timeless charm. Many people choose this type of flooring because it offers a wide range of possibilities in terms of material and design. But like everything beautiful, tiles also have a  big downside  that tends to come to light over time. We are talking about the  dirt  that settles between the joints, or in the space between one tile and another.

Because the space is deeper than the floor surface, a lot of  dust and dirt tend to settle there  . Washing floors means never being able to properly clean the grout: most of them remain dirty. As time goes by, they start to  blacken  more and more and gradually take on a new colour. It happens that we even forget what their original appearance and colour were like. In the following article we will explain  the best method  to restore your tiled floor to its original appearance. All you need is one  ingredient  that we all have at home.

Stoneware floors: everything you need to know

Tiled floors are a  very popular design choice  in many different environments: homes, offices, public spaces, shops. Tiles are available in a very wide range of materials such as, for example,  ceramic  , glass,  porcelain  , natural stone and even wood. Each of these materials has unique characteristics and also its advantages and disadvantages. The most common tiles of all are ceramic and porcelain. It is no coincidence: they are the most  resistant  , the hardest and the easiest to clean.

Tiles

Ceramic is a material made from  clay fired  at very high temperatures, while porcelain is an even more  resistant and dense type of ceramic. Both materials offer a wide range of options in terms of designs, colours, shapes and sizes: there is great flexibility. Glass  tiles   can give an ultra-modern and bright look to all rooms in the house. They can be shiny or translucent and reflect light pleasantly.

Beyond the advantages of each type of tile,  there are negative aspects that they all have in common  . For example, they can be very  cold  to the touch, especially if there is no underfloor heating system installed. Another possible disadvantage is that the floor can become  slippery  if it gets wet: you should always install a  non-slip type of tile  . The biggest and most annoying defect of all is, according to all its owners,  the dirt between the joints  . There is a very simple way to clean them and very few people know it, here we explain what it is.

Black tile grout: clean it with this ingredient

The joints between tiles can be a real  problem  : they become so black that they give the whole house a scruffy and dirty look. Cleaning and keeping them clean is not easy considering their size. These  grooves  between the tiles accumulate a significant amount of  dirt  due to their depth relative to the surface. Even if you have tried everything, there is one foolproof secret that you definitely don’t know and that is  the use of toothpaste  .

Black tile grout

That’s right, the secret is in the  toothpaste  . We always had the solution to our problem at hand and we weren’t aware of it. Thanks to the use of toothpaste and a  toothbrush  we can make our floor and the joints between tiles shine.  Here’s how to do it  .

The step-by-step procedure for cleaning black tile grout.

To throughly and thoroughly clean your floor,  proceed as follows  . The first step is to sweep the floor thoroughly and  remove any dust or crumbs  . The second step is to equip yourself with an  old toothbrush  , some tubes of  toothpaste  and a bottle  of water  . As you can imagine, you have to rub the toothbrush vigorously on the grout joints of the tiles with a little bit of toothpaste and a few drops of water. The water serves to  soften  the dirt and make it easier to remove.

Toothpaste to clean grout

It only takes a little effort. After having carried out this operation everywhere, you can wipe the floor with a damp cloth to remove all traces of dirt and toothpaste. Repeat this operation until all the dirt is gone.  After a few passes you will not believe your eyes  : the floor of your house will have completely changed in appearance and colour. Our recommendation is to clean the joints a little more often with the brush, so as not to reach too high levels of encrustation.  Try it to believe it  !
