It happens very often that ingredients are used in home remedies for cleaning that we would never think of for purposes far from their daily use. This is the case with the use of a dishwasher tablet used in the shower or bathtub. Let’s see together why it is a technique that we could easily adopt for cleaning.
Dishwasher tablets
There are now many types of tablets (or tablets) on the market for the dishwasher, an appliance that is now in the homes of many people.
Dishwasher tablets are a specific product used to clean and disinfect dishes, cutlery and other kitchen utensils. They are made up of a mixture of chemicals that work together to remove food residues, fats and stains left behind by liquids. You can find them in different shapes and sizes, but most are soluble in water and are sold in single packs or boxes containing multiple tablets.

Their use is very simple, it is necessary to place them in the dedicated compartment, usually located inside the dishwasher door. After inserting the tablet, simply close the door and start the wash cycle.
The reason why tablets are so widely used is because in addition to acting as a detergent, they are also useful for disinfecting kitchen utensils, as they contain antibacterial substances that eliminate germs and bacteria present on surfaces. This is one of the main features why it is useful to put a dishwasher tablet in the shower. Let’s see together how to proceed.
Why put a dishwasher tablet in the shower
As mentioned above, their disinfectant property allows dishwasher tablets to be an excellent ally to eliminate germs and bacteria. Why not also use it in another place where germs and bacteria are more prolific?
Putting a dishwasher tablet in the shower or tub will help you clean and sanitize the surfaces in the best possible way. To be able to carry out this procedure in the shower, it is necessary that the shower tray has raised edges and that it is not flush with the floor, as it will be necessary to close the drain and let some water accumulate. Then carry out this procedure, close the shower drain and raise the water level, possibly hot, by a few centimeters. Then throw a dishwasher tablet into the water and wait until it dissolves completely. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes, then take a soft sponge and start cleaning the shower tray.

You will notice that there is no need to scrub, as any residue will have been softened by the action of the pad.
After cleaning the entire shower tray, remove the plug from the drain and let the water drain out. Rinse it off with the shower one last to make sure you have removed all residue. The procedure for using this method is the same, but if you have a very large tub, the advice to avoid waste and consumption is not to fill it completely, but to add water up to half and then clean a little deeper.
But does all this procedure only serve to sanitize the shower in the best possible way? Of course not. In fact, thanks to their composition, dishwasher tablets are very useful for making yellowed shower trays or bathtubs white again. In just a few minutes you will have a sanitized and whitened bathroom.
