Unlocking a hard-to-open drawer has never been easier with grandmothers’ trick. It’s been unveiled: read on to find out and put it into practice.

Chests of drawers, bedside tables or other wooden furniture often get stuck after some time. Opening a stuck drawer can sometimes be tedious and can push you to change furniture out of desperation. But in reality you don’t have to change them because with grandmothers’ tricks everything is solved.

And in fact, a really effective trick has been revealed to solve this problem and definitively unlock the drawers that are stuck and can no longer open. Doing so is very simple and you will not need very few things, in fact only one. With this you solve in a few minutes. Here are the details in the next paragraph.
Unlocking a drawer that won’t open: here’s how to do it
What you need to unlock a stuck drawer most likely you already have at home and you won’t have to buy it. You need a simple candle. Everyone has one at home in case of blackout (safer than torches that could be discharged and useless later). Grab a candle then and follow the steps.

First you have to take the candle and try to open the drawer as far as possible. Usually, in fact, a minimum opens. Rub the candle on the sides that came off the rails and then push the drawer back inside the cabinet. Follow this movement several times, perhaps rubbing the candle again.
After a couple of times that you have repeated it you will get the result you were looking for and the drawer will be unlocked. A really simple method to unlock a drawer but above all cheap without buying any specific spray. The candle, however, does not only save in this case but also in other circumstances that we are now going to see below.
Other uses of a candle
As we were saying, the candle is not only used to help during a blackout or to unclog a blocked drawer. In fact, it is useful for several alternative purposes for which an effective solution is often not found. In fact, now below we will show you some of them to know and apply them at the right time. Here they are:
- Unzip a zip: sometimes it happens that the zip of trousers or a sweatshirt struggles to go down or up and for this reason the candle can help. Just pass the candle along the entire length of the zipper and then open and close a couple of times to unlock slowly. If it doesn’t work, you most likely need to change the zip as it is broken.

- Lubricate a lock or handle: it may happen that the mechanism does not work and you can try, for example, to sprinkle wax on the key before putting it in the lock. Oil can also be fine, but wax prevents you from getting too dirty.
- Waterproof a label: Rubbing a candle on a lettering makes it waterproof. This method is used when sending a package, for example, to ensure that the recipient is never deleted.
If you follow these tips to the letter, you will no longer have problems with drawers.
