Midge trap made from a plastic bottle
This trap involves the use of a plastic bottle. So you can imagine how simple it is to make. What do you need to do?
Just take this plastic bottle and poke holes in the lid. Once this is done you will have to screw the lid back on, cut the top third of the bottle. Once cut you will have to put it aside and insert an element in the bottle that attracts gnats such as apple cider vinegar or wine, letting it settle on the bottom.
At this point you will have to turn the top of the bottle upside down and place it upside down, then the cap must be positioned as if it were a funnel. Once positioned in this way, you can seal that part of the bottle with tape.
In this way you will have the bottle which will be a real trap. In fact, just place it near the fruit basket and you will see how the various flies will tend to go right towards the trap. The position of the plug will prevent the gnats from going away.
Another ally to ward off gnats is apple cider vinegar mixed with dish soap. What should be done?
You will have to pour the apple cider vinegar into a jar with the dish soap. You will have to mix them perfectly and then cover the container with a little aluminum foil.
Once covered, you will have to pierce the aluminum foil with a small needle but so that they are large enough for the gnats to pass inside the jar.
Once this step is done, you will have to add another sheet of aluminum that you are going to drill, but in different positions than the sheet at the bottom. In fact, if they line up, the gnats could come out easily.
Once the second sheet has been added, you will need to attach the aluminum foil to the jar ring. In this way you will have created a perfect midge trap.
