Have you ever wondered why the fridge has light and the freezer doesn’t? Many do not know the answer but it is actually very simple.
In 1928 the distribution and sale of frozen products began but you had to wait to have a freezer at home. In fact, it was only in the 40s that it arrived. This is nothing more than an appliance that is used to freeze food or to keep it that way. There are different types.
When you buy a refrigerator, it always has a part dedicated to the freezer. Whether it is small or large, with drawers or without, it usually has no light compared to the fridge. This may seem like a simple trivial but in reality it is not. The answer is there even if in the latest generation models we see light appearing more and more often.
Below, in the next paragraph, we are going to see why the light inside the freezer has not been inserted. It is also true, however, that this is hardly opened at night compared to the refrigerator where we have water, milk or anything else that can be used to have a night snack or breakfast when it is still night.
Why the freezer has no light
As we said there is a reason why a light was not inserted in the freezer. This is a choice that is in favor of consumers. The use between fridge and freezer is not the same in fact. The refrigerator is opened much more often than a freezer and the weather is not the same either.
It seems that the choice not to insert the bulb is not for an economic question but a pure choice made by the engineers who manufactured it. Inaddition, the accumulation of ice could hide it after a short time and therefore it would not be of much use. Of course, today things have changed.
In fact, in most of today’s refrigerators and freezers there is light in the freezer. This is because most freezers have the characteristic of being no frost. It means nothing more than not producing ice: in this way, the light will never be covered by the formation of ice on the walls.
Precisely for this reason, in the latest models we almost always find light inside compared to older ones that do not work with the no frost system. But after all, the light in the freezer is not of much use because we hardly open it at night and in case then it will be enough to turn on the light.
The light bulb in the fridge
As we have seen, there are no precise reasons. The refrigerator, unlike the freezer, is opened continuously during the day and inside it in fact the presence of light cannot be missing. In fact, thanks to the light inside, food is more easily identified.
The light bulb in the freezer, on the other hand, is superfluous. In recent times, LED bulbs have been found more and more often in the appliance. Before, a specific light bulb was used instead. With the LED, however, the positioning has been changed and the advantages are 3: consumption, cold light and efficiency.
