Never throw away plastic lids from packages because they can be very useful – you won’t believe your eyes.

The economic crisis and the recent increases in the cost of living have forced most Italian families to tighten their belts, also changing many habits inside the home. From adjusting the temperature of the fridge to unplugging at night, up to a more reasoned cooking of food in the oven, there are many changes that allow you to save money and not see bills with astronomical figures delivered. That’s not all, because another practice that many families have chosen to adopt given the price increases is undoubtedly that of recycling, in particular of plastic.
It doesn’t take much to create something incredible
Not everyone knows that plastic can be reused to make very useful objects, thus avoiding unnecessary expenses and preserving our wallet.

Plastic jar lids can also be perfect for making other things. Let’s think, for example, of the lids of mascarpone packages, or those of ice cream packages.
Let’s get two lids of this type, put glue on the edge of one of them and attach them, being careful to put the bottom surface on the outside.
Once this step is completed, we take a sheet of felt and go to make a circle with the pencil using the two plastic lids that we have just glued.
We also make another circle and cut both out of the sheet. Obviously we are going to glue a circle on one of the sides of the mixture that we have obtained by joining the lids, then gluing the other circle on the other side.
Now we need sticks, which we are going to place next to each other – keeping a certain distance – gluing their lower part to the edge of the plastic lids. Once this work is finished, we are going to glue a strip of fabric around the edge.
With the help of glue and thread, we knit all around the object we have just created. When we have almost reached the top, close everything with another plastic lid and continue knitting.
The next step is to cut out the circular edge of the plastic lid and insert it inside the object, keeping it at the top. Let’s obviously help ourselves with glue to keep it firm.
It will only take you a few minutes to turn plastic lids into a very useful object
Now let’s remove all the parts of sticks that are leftover, i.e. the upper ones. The size, in fact, must be the same as that of the object we have just created.

Taking the fabric thread again, we are going to glue a strip on the top as well. Now we have to get a cup of coffee, so as to take the measurements of a circle on a plastic lid. Cut it out and knit on the remaining outside.
We repeat the same operation by making a much smaller circle, gluing several sticks on this circle as if to form spokes. With another circle we will instead make a kind of handle. We glue everything together and finish the knitting as seen in the video.
By doing so, we will have created a wonderful storage container, which we can use for keys, photos or more.
