To widen a narrow neck you can follow this quick and easy method: you can do it at home, just a few steps.
When summer arrives and the temperatures begin to get hot, we can do nothing but wear very light clothes, which do not make us sweat too much and allow us to carry out all our activities without suffering excessively from the heat. However, very often even the lightest clothes we have can be prohibitive when the mercury reaches very high levels. Just to give an example, even short-sleeved shirts can have some problems, especially in terms of collar. It is not uncommon, in fact, for t-shirts to have a very narrow collar that makes it very annoying to wear them, especially on days when the heat is more intense.
Widen a narrow neck: this way you can do it without problems
Fortunately, there are several ways to widen a narrow neck quickly and easily without necessarily having to resort to tailoring. In fact, by following one of these methods, we can also save a lot of money.
The first thing to do is to take the shirt and turn the neck upside down, as seen in the video, then go and put a couple of pins. Then take the measurements, which must be 4 centimeters for the central part and 8 centimeters for the lateral part.
Once the measurements have been taken, we go to mark the area that we will have to cut, so as to increase the collar of the shirt. Once the cut is complete, we will have obtained a much wider neck.
Obviously the operation did not end here, since now we will have to redo the collar of the t-shirt. How to do it? The procedure is much simpler than you might think. Just go and cut a strip from the bottom of the shirt, about a couple of centimeters wide.
At this point, always taking the measurements carefully as you can easily see in the video, we are going to add the strip to the neck, with the help of a sewing machine.
Once the structure of the collar is complete, join it to the opening of the t-shirt using some pins. When everything is in the right position we can go and sew.
Always with the help of the sewing machine we can go and make a perfect hem for our t-shirt, guaranteeing us a much wider opening than before.
No more discomfort from too much heat
In this way we can get back to wearing the shirt we like so much without having to suffer from a neck that is too tight. This technique is really ideal for the summer months, since with this solution the discomfort caused by the tight neck will remain only a memory.
