How to reuse watermelon peels

But exactly, how to proceed? First of all, it will be necessary to cut the watermelon into pieces and remove the green outer part. The remaining part of the peel will be cut into small pieces. And these will all be placed inside a large baking pan and covered with boiling water. The pan in question will then be baked for about 50 minutes in a hot oven preheated to 220 degrees.
When the indicated cooking time has elapsed, all you have to do is open the oven, remove the pan from inside and pour the contents into a large colander in order to eliminate any residue of water or rather juice.

The procedure to follow
How to proceed after doing all this? Simple, after following the instructions provided above, you will need to take a pan and pour 4 cups of granulated sugar into it, for a total of about 750-800 grams. And to the sugar in question you will then need to add three glasses of watermelon peel juice. For a total of about 600 ml of juice.
And again, spices will also need to be added to the sugar and juice. And to be more precise 5-6 cloves. All the ingredients in question will have to cook together over low heat until the mixture has thickened.
In the meantime, it will be necessary to continue adding more ingredients. And exactly half a tablespoon of butter, the juice of half a lemon and the watermelon peels previously cooked in the oven. These in turn will have to cook for about 1 hour over low heat. Be careful, however, not to throw away the remaining part of the remaining watermelon peel juice as it can still be used later.
Using the fruit, and therefore the part of the watermelon usually consumed, it will be possible in the meantime to prepare a very tasty drink. Simply take a few pieces of fruit and place them inside a blender to prepare a tasty watermelon drink. The mixture obtained will then be filtered precisely to eliminate the remaining residues and finally it can be sipped.
Some practical tips

In the meantime, after the time indicated above, it will be possible to return to the watermelon peel which in the meantime will have been cooked. And using a spoon this can be poured into a jar and stored for a long time.
