If you have tight sandals don’t throw them away because you can widen them in seconds. You don’t have to take them to the shoemaker but you can do it yourself at home. Here’s how.

Tight sandals

You have probably bought sandals or shoes and only realized later that they were too tight. Often people decide to buy without trying, especially when they are in a hurry. But don’t worry because it’s not a big problem, in fact you can solve it yourself without having to go to the shoemaker.

In summer, the foot tends to relax and swell and therefore it may be more difficult to wear sandals. Especially if these are slightly smaller than our size. As we said, however, there is a remedy and therefore you absolutely must not throw them away or give them away.

Tight sandals

If they are slightly tight, it can be solved. On the other hand, it is different if the sandal is smaller by more than one size. There it may be more difficult but you can still try. Below now, in the next paragraph, we are going to see what are the remedies that you can try at home too. It takes very little.

How to widen tight sandals

As we have just said, now let’s see some tricks that you can try at home on your own without taking your tight sandals to the shoemaker. Here are some remedies:

  • Ice: This can be very useful for widening your sandals. Doing so is really simple. You simply need to take a freezer food bag and fill it with water. Close it and then place it in the sandal until it takes the part you want to widen well. At this point, put the shoe with the bag of water in the freezer, trying not to drop the bag. Let the water become ice and you will see that the shoe will be slightly wider.
  • Newspaper: you need some sheets of paper and all you have to do is wet them with water or alcohol and roll them up. Then put in the sandals in the part you want to widen. Theaxe at least for one night like this and you will see that the humidity will make a possible strap widen.

  • Double socks: this is the easiest method and the one you may surely already know. Put on two fairly thick socks and then put on the sandal. Walk around the house for a while, it will take at least 30 to 40 minutes a day for a few days. This will allow the shoe to fit your foot and widen slightly.
  • Hair dryer: being sandals, we recommend that you wear socks to protect your feet. After wearing them, put on sandals and take the hairdryer. Nowwith the help of a diffuser, soften the sandals by keeping the hairdryer on with hot air for about 15 minutes. You will need to point it at the point where you want to widen the sandals. Be careful not to burn yourself.

These are quick and easy methods that in most cases do not damage the sandals. Of course, you must also pay attention to the material of these as for example some could be ruined with heat. So try first in a hidden place maybe and then proceed. In addition, a further annoying problem, which often appears with sandals, are halos. Well, know that we have the solution for that too.
