A simple sheet of aluminum foil is enough to solve a very common problem at home: seeing is believing.

After eating a meal at home, it is always better to wash the dishes immediately to avoid finding yourself in the evening or the next day with a mountain of dirty dishes in the sink. Those who own a dishwasher, perhaps even the latest generation, do not have this problem, since it is enough to load the appliance to the maximum possible and then start the program to have dishes, cutlery, pots and pans always shiny. However, those who do not have a dishwasher or want to use it as little as possible to save on consumption must necessarily proceed with hand washing.

With foil you can recover old cutlery: here’s how to do it

Many people easily realize that with very old dishes, any washing does not seem to work. Restoring certain objects to their original shine seems really impossible.

Old cutlery

Fortunately, there are some products on the market that can help us make our cutlery shine again, but the advice is to forget about solutions that are too aggressive and instead focus on some natural remedies that can guarantee high effectiveness. By now it is known, tinfoil has become the salvation for many housewives, but few know all its uses.

In fact, many do not know that a sheet of aluminum foil is enough to guarantee the splendor of cutlery that seems to have been lost. All you have to do is get a sheet of this type and immerse it inside a pan where we have put the water to heat.

After pouring a liter of water into the aforementioned pan, we also dip a tablespoon of baking soda and half a tablespoon of sugar, then stirring well to make sure that the ingredients mix well with each other.

After boiling the water, take an aluminum foil, divide it in half with scissors and then proceed to divide the two halves obtained, so as to have four equal parts.

Each ‘square’ obtained must be rolled up, until there are four balls. As soon as the water is boiling, we can place the aluminum balls inside the pan.

It may seem incredible but this solution is really ideal for old cutlery. Take all the older spoons, forks, knives, which have now lost their original shine, and immerse them inside the pan for ten minutes.

With this method, your cutlery will become shiny and shiny again

After this time, take all the cutlery out of the pan and wash it with soap and water, in order to complete the cleaning and ‘rejuvenation’ work. We dry the cutlery and we will immediately notice that it will be practically as good as new.

The brilliance and gloss that distinguished these cutlery when we bought them will return to characterize them thanks to this simple method.

This is undoubtedly an exceptional solution that also saves a lot of money. In fact, many are tempted to throw away very old cutlery, which has now become opaque, to buy new ones.

An expense that can be safely avoided by exploiting the potential of tinfoil, in addition to the purifying action of baking soda.
