Summer temperatures make you suffer, but so do your bills. That’s why no one wants to use the air conditioner and fans anymore.

The arrival of summer includes higher temperatures. Many cannot stand them and here comes the air conditioner. However, it is an appliance that consumes a lot of energy and for this reason some Italian families prefer not to turn it on given the prices of bills that have been higher than usual for some time now.
The consumption of the air conditioner is not to be underestimated but varies depending on the use. In fact, you have to calculate how many hours you keep on. Considering turning it on for 8 hours a day, you can spend from 60 to 240 euros per month. The figure varies according to your energy contract.

For this reason, many people prefer to choose solutions other than using the air conditioner. Although the heat is a lot, many prefer the fan. Of course, it also works with electricity, but the price is significantly lower than that of the air conditioner.
It must be said, however, that the fan does not generate cold air and does not give the same relief as the air conditioner. With a little ingenuity, however, you can also get a better result from the fan but above all by spending very little. You will simply need bottles of water. Let’s see together below in the next paragraph.
How to create a DIY air conditioner at home
As we have said, the fan does not generate cold air and therefore consumption will be lower but there will be no relief from fresh air. In fact, hot air will still circulate in the house because the fan only helps to move it. However, there is a way to create a DIY air conditioner using a fan and water bottles.

It will then be enough to take the plastic bottles and fill them with water. You will need 3. To these you will need to add 3 teaspoons of table salt to each. Mix well and maybe shake to mix the two ingredients. Now put the bottles in the freezer.
You will have to wait until the water is completely frozen. It may take about 2 hours or longer with a freezer at a temperature of -18°C. As soon as they are ready, you can proceed by creating your own DIY air conditioner. Just put the fixed ventilation and store the bottles about 15 cm from the fan.

This will make the air through the frozen bottles cooler. This is due to the use of salt. In fact, this is the ingredient that cannot be missing because it allows the fan to work in this way. The reason is very simple than what you think.
The salt lowers the temperature of the ice. This will keep the air that is moved by the fan cooler. The only con you will find is that it will take longer to freeze the air bottle. On the other hand, it will not dissolve quickly. Furthermore, it is better to always have a few in reserve and not just 3.
