Whether indoor or outdoor, geraniums remain a popular plant that is easy to grow. Every gardening enthusiast wants to surround their living space with flowers, whether in bouquets, pots or flowerbeds. Growing geranium from cuttings.

This method is especially suitable if you already have a geranium plant that you can take cuttings from. It is useful when you are looking to get geraniums at home quickly.

The steps to follow:

  1. Wait until spring and cut   cuttings 5 ​​to 7 cm long.
  2. Make sure   each cutting has 2 to 3 leaves.
  3. Sprinkle with crushed charcoal.
  4. Leave the cuttings outdoors for 24 hours.
  5. Then, plant them in light soil or river sand.

Please note that it is not necessary to cover these plants with plastic film. It is enough to maintain a constant temperature between 20 and 22 degrees, making sure to moisten the soil periodically without overflowing or excessive contact of water with the stems and leaves. Once the cuttings are well rooted, you can transplant them into individual pots.

Growing Geraniums from Seeds Indoors

Transplant the geraniums to another pot.

If you don’t have any plants you can take cuttings from, you can get seeds at any garden store. Geranium, on the other hand, has an excellent germination rate, allowing even beginners to grow lush flowers.

The steps to follow:

  1. To plant geraniums, choose a substrate composed of river sand, peat and potting soil in equal proportions (1:1:2).
  2. Aerate the mixture, water thoroughly, then sprinkle the seeds over the surface of the soil.
  3. Cover them with a thin layer of the same mixture up to a height of 2 to 3 cm  .
  4. Protect the plants with cling film or a lid, and   keep them at a constant temperature of 20 to 22 degrees  .
  5. Water the seeds with a sprayer and remove the plastic wrap periodically to ensure adequate ventilation.

After 1.5 to 2 months  , leaves will appear on the stems, indicating that the geraniums can be plucked and transplanted into small individual pots. When the plant has twice as many leaves.
