As for watering, this is a plant that requires a lot of water. Often the pot is placed inside a basin for half an hour, so that the water can quench the thirst of the roots but without ever settling and rotting them.
If this were to happen, there is an expert method that serves to refurbish it without soil.
Lush orchid: the soil-free method
There are orchids that, although cared for, can have rotten roots. Experts teach methods that can be copied and customized, so that the orchid comes back to life and can become even more beautiful than before.
The procedure is simple, in fact it will be enough in a first step to remove the sticks that support the plant and then clean the roots, directly eliminating the rotten ones. Take a glass container with water, squeezing half an organic lemon inside.
Insert the orchid plant from the roots and leave it on for 30 minutes, so that the lemon can disinfect them completely.

Once the processing time is over, take a towel and enrich it with squeezed lemon. With this handkerchief, you will have to dab leaves and roots, disinfecting them again to eliminate germs and bacteria that may have taken up residence among the branches.
The second step involves creating a structure to take the plant back and revive it to the fullest. You will need polystyrene cut into small cubes, in a large glass bowl. Place the polystyrene and place the plant by the roots inside, stopping everything with plant pebble. Add water until it touches the roots and allow the orchid to fully recover.
Add water as it decreases, being able to see the first results after just a week.
