Combining star anise with white vinegar results in an exceptional detergent that can be used to clean thoroughly.

Anise and White Vinegar

When cleaning the house, it is always necessary to equip yourself with the best products in circulation, in order to thoroughly remove dirt and dust and give maximum shine to the rooms of the house and to the furniture. One of the most important products is undoubtedly the sanitizer, which is sprayed on the various pieces of furniture and shelves and then wiped with a cloth. Many people wonder if it is possible to prepare some good homemade sanitizer, without having to resort to the classic products that are on the market.

A little star anise in white vinegar for super cleaning

It is actually possible to create a solution that manages to guarantee a truly excellent level of cleanliness. This ‘formula’, in fact, consists of putting star anise in white vinegar, although some steps must be carefully followed to have a truly efficient sanitizer. First of all, you need to put a little vinegar inside a container: generally two cups of white vinegar are fine. At that point, a cinnamon stick and 4-star anise or round anise are added to the container with the vinegar. The last ingredient to add in this solution is cloves – half a handful will be enough.

Once everything is complete, close the container with a lid and let it rest for a couple of days. After 48 hours – or so – you can open the lid, then pour the solution into the classic spray container that we use to perfume the rooms. All that remains is to try the solution to see if it is really that effective.

All you need to do is spray some on a dry cloth. Using this cloth soaked in the solution with anise and white vinegar we go to pass over the jars of sugar and coffee that are in the kitchen (and which get dirty very easily). A few coats will be enough to restore an extraordinary shine to the containers, thus making all traces of dust, grease and dirt disappear.

Anise and white vinegar: also ideal for hobs, ovens and microwaves

But can this homemade cleaner only be used for utensils or can it be used to clean much more? Yes, you can also apply the solution to clean the hob, oven, stove and much more: in all cases you will easily realize how the mix of anise and white vinegar is really a marvel in removing grease and dirt.

If you have some solution leftover, you can use it to clean the microwave. In this case, you don’t need to apply the detergent on the cloth: the advice is to introduce the container with anise and white vinegar in the microwave and let it stay inside for a few minutes. Then turn on the microwave for just one minute and then wipe the internal surfaces with a clean cloth, removing all the grease.

The homemade cleaner is also perfect for cleaning the worktop, kitchen cabinets and all areas where grease accumulates: a few sprays and a good wipe will make everything look like new again.
