With the help of just one glass of this ingredient, you can make your kitchen hood shine again. Let’s see together how to do it.

Hood cleaning

The kitchen hood is an appliance necessary for the elimination of vapours, fumes and odours that are released during cooking food. Its use guarantees the possibility of keeping the air in the environment clean and free of pollutants at all times. In fact, its function is to suck into it all the smoke that is created by cooking. There are two different types of hoods: there is the extractor hood and there is the filtering hood. The extractor hood expels the air sucked into the kitchen through a duct that reaches the outside. The filtering one sucks up all the fumes emitted, purifies them by filtering them and reintroduces them into the kitchen environment.

How many times does it happen after roasting something to have a house full of strong and resistant smells? It happens very often, and it is a very annoying condition. This happens because the hood has not been operated or because the latter has not been properly cleaned. If its cleaning is not constant, it happens that the suction capacity is severely compromised. We must therefore commit ourselves to its cleaning and maintenance in order to make it always very performing.

All it takes is a glass and your hood will thank you

Coming home in the evening after long hours of work and realizing that the house smells of the meat you roasted for lunch: it is certainly not the best welcome. We run to open all the windows of the house, and in addition to letting the frost in, the smells will not go away in a short time, on the contrary. If you wonder why you still smell this despite having used the hood, the answer is this: your appliance urgently needs a deep cleaning. When the hood is clean, the air can be sucked in and filtered much more easily. When it is dirty, the passage of fumes is blocked, making it more difficult to expel them.

Dirty hood

If you are going to finally dedicate yourself to its cleaning after months and months during which you have neglected it, we have the most effective and fastest solution for you. It will need to be cleaned both internally and externally, but before proceeding, make sure to unplug the power outlet. Cleaning the outside of the hood will be much easier: equip yourself with a cloth and a good degreaser. The most complicated part is the one that concerns the internal cleaning. Let’s see how it’s done.

Cleaning the hood

Deep cleaning of the hood: use this ingredient and it will shine again

If degreaser will be enough for the external part of the hood, for the internal part you will need something more powerful. First of all, you will have to disassemble the structure of the hood: there is a cover that contains the filters. The filters must be removed from the lid, so that you can clean the lid well by soaking it in an extraordinary solution for this purpose: water and vinegar. Fill a large bowl with water and a glass of vinegar and dip the lid in. Let it soak for half an hour and at the end of the thirty minutes wipe its surfaces with a cloth: everything will come away, even the most stubborn dirt.

Vinegar is an ingredient that lends itself very well to house cleaning, its use can work wonders in the most varied situations. However, you can do the same with the filters: the important thing is to make sure that all the grease and residues come off. Only in this way can the hood be fully functional again.
