When it comes to cleaning a dirty dishwasher, citric acid is a product that can be used without any problem. This natural product has all the cleansing and deodorizing properties you need.

It is a very effective and quick product capable of removing food residues, grease, limescale and other bacteria from the machine. In addition, we will no longer be afflicted by unpleasant odors when it is combined with an essential oil.

Citrus essential oils give a touch of freshness to our dishes, for this special cleanser we need:

  • 150 g of citric acid,
  • 1 liter of distilled water,
  • 4 drops of essential oil (of your choice).

Distilled water and citric acid are poured into a container. Stir until the citric acid has completely dissolved, and add a few drops of essential oil. At this point you have a homemade and ready-to-use dishwashing product in your hands.

Once the mixture is ready, we can put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the dishes before starting washing. Alternatively, you can put it in a bottle and add it to the compartment provided in place of rinse aid.

Once finished, you can create a new one with the same procedure, using another essential oil to vary the fragrance and double the dose if necessary.

In addition to use as a rinse aid, you can also use this preparation to clean the dishwasher and perform an empty wash to descale all the walls of the dishwasher.
