To clean dirty shoelaces, just rely on this simple and quick remedy: they will be as good as new.

Dirty shoelaces, here’s how to clean them: a very simple remedy
One of these solutions is certainly baking soda , always a great help when it comes to cleaning something. Baking soda is in fact known for its whitening properties, therefore it represents the perfect remedy to make the laces white again as new.

Pour hot water into a basin and add liquid soap . Black soap is fine, but dish soap or Marseille soap are also fine. Once this step is complete, add 250 grams of baking soda.
At this point, immerse the shoelaces in the basin and leave them for 2 or 3 hours . After this time, you can conclude the operation by rubbing them with a toothbrush or a simple brush, before rinsing them with clean water.
Soda crystals are also perfect for whitening shoelaces and are as effective as baking soda. Pour a cup of soda crystals into a bowl of warm water. Dip the shoelaces in and leave to soak for 2 hours. If necessary, rub the shoelaces to remove any remaining stains before rinsing.
Lemon is another great remedy for cleaning white laces. Boil a pot of water and cut a lemon into slices.
The lemon slices are immersed in the water (which can also be squeezed and poured into boiling water) and a spoonful of caustic soda is added . All that remains is to put the laces in this solution and let the remedy act for about 30 minutes. The last step is to rinse them well with clean water and let them dry.
Hydrogen peroxide and toothpaste also clean laces perfectly.
Hydrogen peroxide is well known for its whitening action, especially on fabrics. Fill a basin with warm water, add a glass of 30% hydrogen peroxide.

Soak the laces and let them act for 30 minutes , before rinsing. Once the operation is finished, you may still notice some stains on the laces. Don’t worry: just repeat the procedure to make them disappear permanently.
Finally, the last tip for whitening shoelaces is to rely on toothpaste , a very effective product also as a fabric whitener.
All you need is to apply a little toothpaste (preferably white paste) on the dry lace. Leave it to dry and rub it with a brush or sponge , before rinsing and letting it dry: the effect is guaranteed.
