There always comes a time when, in addition to cleaning all the internal environments of our home, we must also sanitize the external part well. The terrace, for example, certainly needs a good cleaning, especially after some rain. The same goes for the garden paths, which must be carefully cleaned. How can self-locking pavement be cleaned and restored to its maximum splendor? Creating a floor with self-locking blocks is undoubtedly a good choice in purely aesthetic terms. However, cleaning can be more complicated than expected.
How to perfectly clean bricks for external cladding: all the remedies
Fortunately, it is possible to use effective and natural remedies to clean these floors naturally, even when they are very dirty, without necessarily having to resort to chemicals.
Among the most popular ecological solutions there is certainly baking soda, one of the products that is most used to remove stains and make very dirty objects or places shine again. Baking soda, in fact, is very effective for cleaning grass stains, mud and grease, up to bird droppings.
The procedure is very simple. Simply pour a cup of baking soda and a cup of water into a basin, then stir carefully to make a thick paste. The solution should be poured onto the self-locking flooring and rubbed with a stiff brush. After leaving it on for about five minutes, rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Baking soda is ideal if the flooring is very dirty. However, if the level of soiling is not high, you can use classic dishwashing liquid.
However, it is better to use a natural and ecological detergent, so as not to run the risk of causing damage to the blocks. Dishwashing detergent – which ensures an excellent degreasing action – is certainly a very practical solution because it is easily found in any home.
You take a bucket and fill it with water to about a third of its capacity. Add a tablespoon of dish soap, mix well and apply the product to the floors using a brush. After rubbing well, rinse thoroughly with cold water.
White vinegar is also ideal for cleaning
Another simple solution to properly clean self-locking floors is white vinegar, which is also an excellent ally to fight moss. In addition, thanks to its acidity, this product also eliminates weeds naturally, as well as grease stains and bird droppings.
The first thing to do is to pour the same amount of water and white vinegar into a spray bottle. Once this is done, add a splash of dish soap, close the spray bottle and shake the entire solution.
Once this step is completed, you can spray the mixture on the flooring, leaving it to act for about an hour. After this time, the work is completed by rubbing the product with a brush, making circular movements.
All that remains is to rinse the flooring thoroughly with cold water. The latter treatment is even more effective if carried out on a sunny and windless day.
