The gang that stole precious watches from the wrists of their owners on a scooter between Brescia, Bergamo and Verona has been busted
A gang of boys operated between Brescia, Bergamo and Verona. They stole mostly Rolex watches. On May 2nd , in fact, they managed to steal a watch worth 70,000 euros from a man’s arm . Now, finally, anyone who owns a valuable watch can rest a little easier .
The police officers of the Police Headquarters were able to reconstruct how the events unfolded. Two of the four robbers were traveling on a scooter . With their faces covered by a dark helmet, they approached the victim where he was parking his car .
Scooter thieves
The robbery took place in a matter of seconds . They took the watch off his wrist and disappeared , blending into the city traffic . In the meantime, another accomplice was waiting for them. This one, unlike the two, was in a car . The two, after getting off the scooter, got into the car and fled .
The day after this last robbery, the investigators located the car with three of the four robbers, which was traveling on the highway. Thanks to the help of the Cremona Highway Police , they stopped them and took them to the barracks . Two of them were the robbers , while the other was in charge of recovering them after they had committed the theft .
The police officers also found the key to a van . During the investigations, the detectives had, in fact, noticed the presence of a van that was always in the vicinity of the robberies . They later found it in Bergamo , thanks also to the help and intervention of the Bergamo officers .
In the van , the officers found not only the scooters with which the robbers approached and robbed the victims, but also a series of materials that the thieves used during their robberies . A series of wigs , radio transmitters and false license plates that the criminals then stuck on their means of transport so as not to be found by the various surveillance cameras.
70,000 Euro Watch Found
After stopping the three , only one was missing to arrest the entire gang. The law enforcement officers located him and stopped him at the Verona train station . He was, in fact, about to board a train . The Brescia prosecutor’s office asked the mobile squad officers to search the hotel room where the robbers were staying.
During the search , the officers found the watch , the result of the latest robbery, well hidden inside the bathroom pipes of the hotel where they were staying. Now the four , originally from Campania, are under arrest , already validated, at the prisons of Canton Mombello in Brescia. The precious watch has already been returned to its rightful owner .
