The yellowed toilet is synonymous with dirt, germs and bacteria but with this method it will return to being as white as new.

Time passes and no matter how best you can manage hygiene in the bathroom, there is always something that cannot be kept under control. The ceramic of the toilet tends to turn yellow, not only due to a lack of hygienic care but also due to the stagnant water on the bottom, which creates a yellow patina when it lasts. The corrosion of the white enamel slowly leads to the yellowing of the surface, a manifestation that is impossible to look at and bear. In this regard, it will only take one move and only a few ingredients to make it shine and make it regain its milky white color.
Yellowed toilet, how to make it white again? Ingredients
The bathroom is one of the areas of the house that must always be sanitized and cleaned thoroughly. The toilet in particular is a tool where germs and bacteria often find a home, moreover over time a yellow patina is created caused by the hardness of the stagnant water on the bottom.
Every time you flush the toilet or use products rich in corrosive agents, the white patina of the ceramic corrodes and gives way to yellow. The first rule is not to buy products that can be invasive, not delicate and certainly not cheap.

The second rule is to use homemade formulations – cheap – which can give the ceramic its natural appearance again.
The ingredients are:
- White wine vinegar 700ml
- Epsom salt – magnesium sulfate – 250 grams
- Dish soap 2 tablespoons
- Glass jar with airtight lid
- Mint or lavender essential oil – a few drops to taste
This is a natural and cheap DIY detergent, precisely because there are no chemicals inside as in some detergents on the market. White wine vinegar is a commonly used natural remedy, which becomes an essential ally for the toilet due to its acidity that eliminates all yellow stains.

Magnesium sulphate is a very mild abrasive that removes dirt, yellow film and also carries away all bacteria. Dishwashing detergent is essential for removing limescale and encrusted dirt, while essential oil is used to intensely perfume the room with your favorite fragrance.
White and shiny toilet: how to apply the homemade solution
To prepare the homemade substance for the yellowed toilet, proceed by putting the ingredients inside the jar by closing it with the lid. Stir until they have all dissolved.
Open the jar and pour the mixture – half – into the toilet and leave it on overnight without ever flushing the toilet or using the toilet.
The following morning rub well with the toilet brush and all the yellow film will be gradually removed.

This is a solution that can also be used for ceramic home surfaces, especially if they are yellowed or stained.
