Law enforcement officers identified a chat between minors in which they exchanged information about weapons and explosives.
The discovery was made by the Postal and Communications Police , which is a specific sector of the police force that deals with fraud or online crimes . And they work in coordination with the Digos , the general investigations and special operations division, an office belonging to the State Police , which is present in all police headquarters in Italy .
From the joint work of these special services, the agents discovered a chat frequented only by minors dedicated to the use of weapons of all kinds . It almost seems like an American film , one of those in which kids of all ages handle guns or other things and even bring them to school . Here in the chat of a social network the conversations of the young interlocutors were of this kind.
Based on this, the military were able to begin control operations at the various homes of the members of the online group . The investigations began in October 2022 and were coordinated by Ciro Cascone , the chief prosecutor of the Juvenile Court of Milan in collaboration with the deputy prosecutor Sabrina Ditaranto .
Homes of many teenagers searched in various Italian cities
Today, Thursday 29 June , eight searches are underway by Digos agents in various Italian cities, including Milan. The teenagers exchanged opinions, ideas, experiments and intentions. Some said they were walking around with knives, others even with blank-firing guns . Or with air soft guns, that is, well-made replicas of real light firearms.
The ASG shoot spherical pellets thanks to the thrust given by the compression of a gas , air, propane or carbon dioxide . In addition, they circulated photos , videos or tutorials, in which each one showed their own weapon even while using it. Among the various experiments there were also those in which they used home-made explosives , such as Molotov cocktails.
It is a rudimentary device consisting of a glass bottle containing sand mixed with gasoline and a fuse. The bottle is then hermetically sealed. The fuse is then lit and thrown at a target . The glass shatters and the liquid ignites .
The investigation unit that is part of the cybersecurity operations center in Milan also revealed that young people were asking for advice on how to make explosives and detonators , publishing videos of the tests they had done . Some did not hide the fact that their parents were against weapons and, therefore, they would have to find the necessary means to make them .
One of the boys implicated fired a Glock
Another said he had been shooting a Glock and modifying guns since he was 14. In a later comment, officers read that a teenager had brought that type of gun to school because he had seen it done in an American movie . The Glock Safe Action Pistol is a semi-automatic pistol produced by an Austrian company .
A young man said he had brought a pocket knife to class , risking a lot. In addition, there were those who wanted to try making napalm and asked for a tutorial on the detonator . This is a chemical substance prepared by the arms industry to create incendiary bombs and mines and as fuel for flamethrowers.
Needless to say , it is a very dangerous composition . Not just words, but also facts that go in the direction of strong juvenile degradation. The searches by the postal police and the Digos agents , with police dogs, are also underway in Lecce , Pisa, Avellino , Sassari, Nuoro and Treviso .
