Follow this trick with your tomato plants and you’ll see your yield up to 30% higher. You wouldn’t expect it, but it’s very simple.

We started planting tomatoes around May/June . There are many varieties to choose from. There are round vine tomatoes or datterini tomatoes. Or Cuori di bue tomatoes, San Marzano tomatoes, Costoluti tomatoes, Piennolo tomatoes and many other varieties. Not all of us can use the trick we suggest.
In fact, this trick is for tomato plants that grow vertically near the stakes you place in the ground . There is a very specific reason and it involves a girl. The latter is nothing more than the shoot that is usually removed during pruning and pruning to grow other tomatoes.

Tomatoes: use this trick to increase yield
This trick to grow plants faster does not involve applying fertilizer to the plants. The plant itself and its branches are used . Specifically, let’s touch on the female, that is, the part of the plant that we mentioned earlier.
As we said, this trick can only be used on tall tomato plants with indeterminate growth (reminder). In practice, instead of removing the females , and therefore reducing the yield, we ensure their growth and transformation into a new stem with leaves, flowers and fruits .

Therefore, these axillary shoots will become a new stem if not cut. As a result, the harvest will be larger, but because there is a new stem, the plant will require more nutrients . Even if the plant has more fruits, it will not grow much, but will remain smaller. In no case is it recommended to leave all females on the plant.
Only some will be allowed to stay, but others will have to be removed. A plant covered in leaves will perform better because there will also be less air circulation. Additionally, the plant becomes unstable with too many females . So don’t overdo it with keeping these sprouts, in short we can say that we preserve them enough so that they don’t damage the plant.
Fertilizers for tomato plants.
If you want to use fertilizer for your tomato plants as well, we recommend some natural ones that you can prepare and use. Here they are:

- Manure : it is the best organic fertilizer to use in growing this plant. However, they must come from non-industrial farms.
- Ash – wood ash contains many minerals useful for the plant.
- Liquid solution : Pour a glass of cold, unsweetened coffee into a bottle of warm water. You can use this solution as it is or enrich it with vegetable cooking water.
These are some examples, but the best fertilizers for tomatoes are those rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium .
