The mole cricket is a known crop enemy that can cause significant damage to both the root system of plants and their aerial parts. However, there are methods to combat this insect, among which the use of eggshells occupies a special place.
First, you can use the peel as a protective barrier by crushing it into small pieces and spreading them around the trunk of the plant. This will prevent the mole cricket from reaching the roots.

In addition, the carapace is an effective bait. To create it, the husks must be crushed into a powder, mixed with a small amount of vegetable oil to attract the pest, and the resulting mass must be used to form balls, which must be placed on the site. After eating the bait, the mole cricket will quickly die.
Fighting mole crickets with traditional methods:
1.The use of eggshells will provide reliable protection to young plants. The peels, soaked in aromatic sunflower oil, are crushed and applied to the soil around the plant. This will protect against the pest, which will die from the sharp edges of the shell.

2. Soapy solution is an effective remedy. Washing powder is added to the water and the resulting mixture is used to fill the mole cricket’s burrows, forcing the insects to leave their shelters.
3. Ammonia repels mole crickets with its pungent smell. Ammonia diluted in water is safe for plants, but it repels insects.
4. Kerosene is used for its repellent aroma. Mixing it with sand or soil allows you to create effective barriers against pests.
5. Cheating is a proven method. Bait bottles are dug into the ground, insects climb inside, and die after falling into the trap.
To prevent mole cricket attacks, it is important to regularly inspect the site, remove weeds, and maintain an optimal soil moisture level. When the first signs of a pest are detected, it is necessary to take immediate action to destroy it, using both chemicals and time-tested traditional methods.
