“Summer flew by and now it’s time to think about protecting the house from uninvited guests: mice and slugs, which with the first frosts begin to seek refuge in warm human dwellings in search of food and comfort. If your doors are open to these little pests, be prepared for a massive invasion. Even a cat won’t always save you from such an invasion, because it won’t be able to cope with all the “people.” You’ll need effective methods that repel rodents at the cellular level. Let’s look at some of them.

Mouse repellent methods
Let’s review the most accessible and effective methods that don’t require large expenses:
burnt rubber
The unpleasant and pungent smell of burnt rubber causes panic in mice, which try to leave the place of origin. To do this, simply burn pieces of old tires or rubber shoes and then place them in secluded corners where pests are expected. This method provides protection for several months.
Charred skin or feathers
Like burnt rubber, the smell of burnt hair or feathers is also effective against rodents. Simply set fire to wool or feather products and, once they have cooled, distribute them in places where mice can gather.

Birch tar
It is used to impregnate rags that are then placed in basements and attics to scare away rodents.
Turpentine
It is poured into small containers and placed in the places where mice are most often seen.
Vinegar
Just pour it into the corners of your basement or attic and you’ll notice that the mice will be gone within a few days. This is an old and proven method.

Protecting mouse insulation
Mice happily settle in mineral wool or expanded polystyrene, but this can be avoided by using naphthalene. During the construction stage of a house, it can be shredded and sprayed with insulation to prevent rodents from settling in the walls. The same method will help get rid of mice in basements and other utility rooms.
