Ancient fungi for plant   support     . We reveal some methods to recycle them, which benefits the plants. You can use them by creating   a mixture of soil and sponge   :

  • Cut the cake into small pieces.
  • Mix with soil
  • Make a mix to serve as a base for cuttings (50% sponge and 50% soil) or for plants that need moist but aerated soil such as pothos (1/3 sponge and 2/3 soil)
  • When the two compositions are mixed, fill the container with holes in the bottom with the mixture and put the cuttings.
  • to water
  • Seal the jar in a plastic bag.
  • Place it in light, but not in direct rays.

Wait a few days for the seedlings to sprout green, shiny and strong.

In addition, you can use the fungus to   germinate seeds   , such as lemon seeds:

  • Remove the seeds from the inside of the lemon.
  • Cut the cake in half
  • Open one of the two halves but do not cut it completely, leaving the base closed and the end open.
  • Inside the cut made in the cake, insert the seeds, 4 or 5, using tweezers.
  • Close the sponge and place it in a bowl of water.

After two weeks, the seeds will germinate, a root system and a small sprout will form. At this point, all that remains is to place them in a pot at least 10 centimeters in diameter with soil suitable for citrus. An opening is created here for the introduction of the seed. The trick is to place the root down and the shoot up, cover and water it liberally. At this point you just need a little patience, after a few months, about three, the plant will be at least 5 centimeters tall.
