With the arrival of summer, annoying mosquitoes appear again, which in their own way can spoil even the most beautiful evening.
There are many products on the market that are more or less considered deadly mosquito repellent weapons and are offered both for application to the skin and for spraying indoors or outdoors. In the following lines, we present another option, which is to prepare a homemade mosquito trap that will attract them and make them captive, thus solving the problem.

It has been voted the best mosquito trap ever! Here we explain how.
This is a bottle shaped trap. You might be wondering what that is. Well, the first thing is to get a bottle: an ordinary mineral water bottle of one and a half liters or even two is very good. You will also need hot water, sugar and brewer’s yeast, as well as black cardboard and duct tape.
How to make a mosquito bottle
First, cut the plastic bottle about 5 to 10 centimeters from where it starts to shrink. You have to keep both sides, then heat the water and sugar and let it boil for about ten minutes. Then let it cool. Now you need to pour this mixture into the bottom of the bottle.

At this point we will also add brewer’s yeast: you can use a paste (in this case it is better to first dissolve it in a little warm water) or a powdered version by pouring the whole bag.
At this point, the top part of the bottle is restored (removing the cork) and the other part is inverted. Both parts are glued together to prevent chemical reaction between the ingredients outside the container. Finally, cover the edges with dark cardboard.
The combination of these three ingredients produces a large amount of carbon dioxide, which, as you may not know, mosquitoes greatly appreciate. CO2 builds up at the bottom of the bottle and when mosquitoes try to get there they get stuck.
A DIY trap can last for a few weeks and then change.
